A Moroccan garden, the Hollywood muses of the 1930s and 1940s, the independent spirit of the local New England artist, a single seed…while seemingly unrelated, these items all have something in common. They are the inspirations behind the vignettes created this year by some of the spectacularly talented interior designers appearing at the 14th annual ROOMS with a VIEW at Southport Congregational Church over the weekend of November 6-9, 2008.
Known as one of the premier interior design and fundraising events in Fairfield County, ROOMS with a VIEW will showcase twelve noted designers primarily from the New York metropolitan area, including Michael Adams from the hit Bravo TV show Top Design, Thom Filicia, one of the much-loved Fab Five from Bravo’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Evan Ainbinder from the world-renowned firm of Albert Hadley Incorporated.
The theme of this year’s show is “Muse and Inspiration,” and each designer will be given an opportunity to share his or her own personal inspiration or muse by creating a unique miniature showroom, or “vignette,” illustrating the designer’s own personal flair and design sense. Total artistic license is allowed in each of these spaces.
The show also features a Marketplace with over 30 vendors and artists selling home accessories, gifts, jewelry, textiles and much more, as well as numerous exciting weekend events, including a gala Preview Party (with live and silent auctions) to kick off the event on Thursday, November 6th, and a gourmet luncheon and fashion show featuring Lucy’s of Westport on Friday, November 7th. A Marketplace Cafe will serve delicious homemade lunches and desserts all weekend.
All proceeds of ROOMS with a VIEW benefit local charities and Southport Congregational Church. Honorary chairperson, Albert Hadley, remains instrumental in the ongoing success of this event.
