Welcome!

Southport Congregational Church is a warm, welcoming, open and affirming community of people who want to encourage and cultivate the abundance of love, life, comfort, peace, health, joy and meaning that God desires for us all. As a church family, we welcome and value each person as an individual created in God’s image. We unite to share our faith and sense of wonder, joys and sorrows, hopes and dreams, love and support, in the manner of Jesus Christ, our Lord, our Savior and our guide.

YOUR FIRST VISIT

New to the community and looking for a spiritual home? Some of your basic questions are answered here. We’d love to have you visit!

We believe that each person is called by God to minister to one another and the world. We accomplish our mission through our worship, education and spiritual development for all ages, outreach to others in need, friendship and fellowship.

Children & Youth

All children, from Kindergarten to Grade 5, participate in Children’s Chapel. Following dismissal from the Sanctuary, the entire Church School gathers for a Chapel service that include singing, games, scripture as well as lessons and discussion. 6th, 7th and 8th Grade youth leave the Sanctuary and go directly to the Youth Room for their discussion-based class. Our Fun Friends, children ages 3 and 4, go directly to Room 5 following Church School dismissal from the Sanctuary for a play-based lesson and some fellowship time.

ADULTS

The Christian faith is a living faith, evolving with humanity as we grow in new knowledge and experiences. We offer many group experiences for adults to continue to explore new ideas on their faith journey.

FELLOWSHIP

Being a church family, SCC loves getting together for all sorts of reasons. Whether it is to come together to sing karaoke, or celebrate the holidays, Fellowship is a critical part of what makes us a warm, welcoming and loving community.

“...love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind... and love your neighbor as yourself.”

— Mt 22:34-40
