Experience Lent at SCC

Lent is a time to open our hearts and minds deeper to God’s purposes for us, so that when Good Friday, and eventually, Easter, comes it’s just not another day at church, but an opportunity to receive the overflowing graces God had to offer.  In order to do that, we must understand and experience the entire story of Holy Week – from the triumphal entry of Palm Sunday, through the betrayal of Maundy Thursday to the pain of Good Friday and culminating in the joys of Easter.  We hope you will join us in as many of these Lenten Journeys as you are able to.

April 14 10:00 a.m. Palm Sunday Join us for worship at 10 am in the Sanctuary as we celebrate Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, when the crowds came out by the thousands to welcome the messiah into the Temple.  We celebrate that entry with a parade of our, led by our children.

April 18, 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday Seder Dinner and Service of Tenebrae

Participating in the Jewish Seder has a historic and spiritual connection to the event preceding the betrayal, death and resurrection Jesus Christ.  Join us for this walk through of our Jewish heritage as we move from Passover to Easter.  A suggested donation of $20 per person is asked to help cover the costs.  Please sign up to attend this event as seating is limited.
