A gathering of children of all ages was a huge hit for the members of our church as they gathered for a picnic on the beautiful beaches of Fairfield. Southport Congregational Church is proud to be active participants in the annual Southport Parade and Blessing of the Fleet! This year, Rev. Paul Whitmore, Rev. Sharon Blackburn and Rev. 12 youth were joined by Rev. Laura Whitmore and Chris Palmer as they headed off to Orland, Maine to work with the H.O.M.E. Co-Op (Homemakers Organized for More Employment). Recently, a group of young people travelled to the new home of Emerge (a home for abused women and their children) to do a little landscaping and to plant some new gardens. Thanks to Chris Palmer of Outdoor Design we were able to accomplish this renovation in good time and despite the rain!
